OVERVIEW
The 3-way stopcock is a very versatile piece of equipment that is commonly used. With this in mind, often times it can confuse the user and this can lead to the spilling of sensitive materials. The video below shows how to use this piece of equipment. The main teaching point is that the lever of the stopcock will signify which port of the device is turned OFF (i.e. wherever it is pointing to will not allow for the movement of fluid in/out). The brand of the stopcock used below is the Medex/Smiths Medical 3-way stopcock (Ref MX5311L).
