Dandy-Walker Malformation

WHAT IS IT?

A Dandy-Walker malformation refers to a developmental anomaly that is characterized by hypoplasia/absence of the cerebellar vermis, as well as cystic dilation of the fourth ventricle with posterior fossa enlargement.

WHAT MAKES US SUSPECT IT?

Initial presentation (during infancy usually)

  • Developmental delay
  • Progressive skull enlargement
