WHAT IS IT?
Aspergillus fumigatus is a fungus.
Invasive pulmonary apsergillosis: seen in immunocompromised patients (such as those with chronic granulomatous disease)
Aspergillomas in re-existing lung cavities such as those after a TB infection.
OTHER HY FACTS
On microscopy this organism is seen as septate narrow hyphae that branch at a 45° angle. Produces conida in radiating chains at the end of the conidophore.
