The musculocutaneous nerve arises from the brachial plexus

Spinal roots C5, C6, and C7 → Brachial Plexus → Musculocutaneous Nerve

FUNCTION

Motor Innervation:

 

CAUSE OF INJURY

 

CLINICAL PRESENTATION OF INJURY

Inability to flex the elbow: this action is mediated by the biceps, innervated by this nerve. 

Absents sensation on lateral aspect of the arm: this area is innervated by this nerve.
