The cystic artery arises from the right hepatic artery.

aorta → celiac artery → common hepatic artery → hepatic artery proper → right hepatic artery → cystic artery

FUNCTION

The cystic artery supplies both the gall bladder and cystic duct with oxygenated blood.

OTHER INFO

This artery will be clipped and cut when removing the gall bladder in procedures like the laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
