Posterior Descending Artery

VESSEL PATHWAY

The posterior descending artery is a branch of the right coronary artery. It runs in the posterior interventricular sulcus towards the apex of the heart where it connects with the anterior interventricular artery.

 Aorta  → Right Coronary Artery (RCA) → Posterior Descending Artery

FUNCTION

The posterior descending artery supplies the posterior 1/3 of the interventricular septum with oxygenated blood.,
