Salmonella infection refers to an infectious gastrointestinal condition caused by Salmonella species (bacterial genus).

Risk factors:

Recent ingestion of poultry/eggs (suspicion of undercooked items), pet turtles

Initial Presentation

  • Diarrhea 
  • Gastroenteritis 
CLINICAL WORKUP

Ova And Parasite Testthis can be done on the stool to evaluate for possible GI infections.

Stool cultures will be able to grow out Salmonella species (that will confirm the diagnosis)
