Molluscum contagiosum is an infectious skin condition that is caused by the Molluscum contagiosum virus (a poxvirus)

- Skin findings that patients may describe as “bumps” or “warts”
Physical Examination
Dermatological exam will often reveal the following findings:
- Papules that are small, dome shaped, and have a smooth surface
- Umbilicated centers are a characteristic of the papules
